The Htc Desire Z Has Been Branded As Htc's Focused Messaging Smartphone

The fabulous new HTC Desire Z has been designed with eager messengers in mind

. A slick slider keyboard combines with a capacitive touch screen to deliver an optimized user experience which is unrivalled by anything else in its category. The new phone is Android smart and boasts the newest 2.2 (Froyo) version of the popular platform. Additional support is in place to provide a music player, video player, FM radio and SNS integration.

The first thing you notice about the Desire Z is its similarities to the Desire; the 3.7 inch screen can render over 16 million colours with a pixel resolution of 480 x 800. The screen also utilises the multi-touch input method in order to navigate the UI. An optical track pad offers an alternative means of interface interaction if needs be.

The HTC Sense UI has done it again; it paints the perfect picture over the advanced Android platform. The intuitive overlay is the same as that on the old Desire and provides a fully customizable seven-screen system. the interface cleverly integrates information from your social networks into your phonebook; so contact info and contact pictures featured on, say Facebook are displayed in there phonebook equivalent.

Messaging has been highlighted as a key feature thanks to the QWERTY keyboard; this area covers all medias of messaging including e-mail and IM, all the big hitters are compatible and multiple accounts can be managed. The SNS application is called FriendStream, and it is fantastic if you want to manage all your social networks at once, because it merges them into one convenient place. You can also comment of make wall posts on Twitter and Facebook at the same time with one post.

Accessing the internet is possible thanks to the Wi Fi connectivity and 3G networks can also be accessed via HSDPA. Cellular networks are covered by EDGE/GPRS and connecting to satellites for navigation is performed by the in-built A-GPS receiver which supports Google Maps and HTC Footprints. Communicating with other hardware devices is also possible with the microUSB connection, and as a wireless alternative Bluetooth.

You cant have a successful smartphone without a good camera; the HTC Desire Z is well equipped in this field and boasts a very capable 5MP effort which will comfortably handle 720p HD video. Stills come out crisp and a series of settings and editing tools allow you to perfect and customise your work before your friends get to see it on Facebook or YouTube. The music player can play a number of different file types while the video player has been calibrated to manage a wide selection of video formats.

The HTC Desire Z was released in collaboration with the HTC Desire HD, and the pair look set to launch the name HTC down the throats of the masses. HTC have provided a pair of highly capable smartphones which have been based on the already successful HTC Desire. They can both capture HD video and they both run on the brand new Android 2.2 platform.
