Stocking your humidor can be done in two different ways. It depends on if you are an occasional smoker and you like to enjoy one on your own to relax. Or you could be the enthusiast and like to invite people over for gatherings and to smoke socially.

If you are the first type, you could simply have your favorite brand in your humidor to enjoy all the time and that you smoke regularly. You could have a handful of different brands to add some variety and to suit your moods on different days. In addition to brands and tastes, make sure to have a variety of sizes. You'll want to accommodate different time ranges. For instance,if you have just enough time during a lunch, and for that nice, "after dinner", smoke where you can relax longer and spend more time with one. To do this, include some Coronas, Lonsdales, and some Churchills.

The Complete Humidor

If you are more the social enthusiast and regularly have friends and guests over, stocking your humidor is much more involved and requires really knowing how to accommodate a wide spectrum of tastes and preferences. You're going to have to stock for many lengths of times and situations. Include different flavor profiles, and again, sizes.

To achieve a balanced and complete humidor for you and your guests, you should be familiar of their wants and know if they like darker Maduro wrappers, or if some will want more creamy Connecticut shade wrappers. It's also a good idea to throw in some Cameroons as well for a nice twist in taste. Know that some will like full bodied smokes, and others will prefer more mild ones. Again, for variety in size preferences, have the above mentioned, Coronas, Lonsdales, and Churchills.

Daily and special occasion

Still yet, another way to go is to have a few brands that you have on a regular basis and that will be a more medium priced range of cigars. Then add to that some cigars on the more expensive side to have for those special occasions and celebrations.

The humidor that is perfect not only for you, but for your party is one that is well in balance with all of these considerations. You and your guests will love looking into your humidor and see a selection that has something just for you and them, and marks you as a true connoisseur.
