The Impact Of Design
This article is about how design changes a complete picture and transforms it into
something attractive and worth buying as well as the article discuses about the impact of design on the business success and that the whole scenario is dependent upon one single person that is the designer.
Unappealing, unsightly, plain and boring things are considered extras by everybody around. There should be some life and attractiveness to transform the dullness to sparkle. This could be done only by the fresh minds with artistic imagination, with a great tendency to mould the lifeless things into beautifully designed and creative architectural structures. Well, not everybody have got this aptitude to magically transform the unattractive things to the most envious things but the designers.
As a designer one enjoys figuring out new ways of interacting with the world around us. Clients often come to them with raw, just invented technologies, and they help add a human perspective. New technologies prompt new forms, and designers look for meaning in form. A products personality is the sum expression of the content it delivers, the function it performs, the behavior it elicits, and the aesthetic it portrays. Good design does not always equal good business. But good business outcome, especially when the goal is to create new sources of value in the world are most often achieved through a well-structured design process that is more holistic and inclusive than the notion of good design
Design has been defined as the process that links creativity and innovation. It does this by shaping ideas to become practical and attractive propositions for users or customers. Innovation the successful exploitation of ideas requires the use of design to develop new products, service or processes. This interdependency is why design is now increasingly seen as a vital part of innovation along with business and technological expertise. All of the energy fed into the debate about the value of good design to the world of commerce would be better spent building ways to make holistic design a routine activity in business, and society
Research has shown that design is a significant source of competitive advantage. Companies that invest in their design capability and develop a reputation for innovation can avoid competing on price alone and hence the company can fill the competition gap through focusing on its design. Design enables the creation of innovative products and services, allowing companies to open new income streams and compete overseas. Whether or not we call ourselves a designer, when we work to relate people's needs to broader webs of individual, social, and economic factors, and pour our energy into creating better outcomes via an evidence-driven process, we are using design thinking to increase our odds of success in the world. That sounds like good business to me.
