The Importance Of Communication Between Men & Women In Relationships
Unfortunately, the mere fact of communicating with one another can be confusing
, or both party's messages are completely lost. This is especially true when it comes to having a communication between men and women. Not surprisingly, there is a conflict as they interpret the same conversation in different ways. This is because of the different conversational styles of men and women.There are many typical examples of male/female responses. There are many exceptions on it. Analyze how you feel or respond to situations compared to those described. If you need to change something about your communication style then change it. As women get older, they can have woven relationships. You should develop and maintain friendships by sharing secrets, and the intention to speak is a sign of friendship. The obligations of men is as strong as women, but their friendships are based more on things and it is not necessary about building relationships.
Men are comfortable telling people what to do; ladies don't like to speak up directly, they usually say it in request, than demand (which leads men to think they have the right to accept or refuse a woman's request). When conversing, ladies face each other directly, with eyes anchored on each other's face. Men sit at angles to each other & look elsewhere in the room-periodically glancing at each other & often mirror each other's body movements.
Men's tendency to face away from them when conversing gives ladies the impression that the men are not listening to them, when in fact they are. The only times men will look for any length of time at the person who is speaking are when they are trying to evaluate whether the speaker is lying or not; the speaker is hostile & they may must take defensive action; or they are evaluating an beautiful woman. In this last case, they will glance over the woman's body while listening to her comments. This is highly distracting to the female speaker because the man's eyes mirror that he is not listening to what she is saying, but sizing her up as a woman.
Another habit that gives ladies the impression men are not listening is that they switch topics more often. Ladies tend to speak at length about one topic; men tend to jump from topic to topic. When a woman expresses her point of view, her female listener usually expresses agreement & support, whereas men point out the other side of the issue. Ladies see this as disloyalty & a refusal to offer support to their ideas. Ladies prefer other points of view expressed as suggestions & inquiries, than as direct challenges or arguments. Men are more comfortable with an oppositional style.
Men expect silent attention & interpret constant listener's noise as signs of impatience on the listeners' part. When men don't make listening noises, ladies may assume they are not listening to them. Ladies make more listening noises such as "uh-huh ..." to encourage the other person. Men often think these noises mean the woman agrees with him. Because men don't make as lots of listening noises, ladies assume they are not listening. Men are also less likely to make non-verbal signs of listening, & lots of continue doing whatever they were doing before the conversation began.
Ladies are more likely to nod their head more, give direct eye contact, & cease whatever else they may have been doing when the conversation began.
