When you walk into a shop you may think that one of the first things you notice are

the products on offer, however buried away underneath these lie shop fittings. These are the hidden gems that create the overall shopping experience that many seek out for fun on a weekend.

Walking into a shop that is not well laid out and thought through, does not make your trip as enjoyable. When customers are able to reach up to top shelves with ease and navigate around the store without difficulty, they will be more inclined to spend longer in a store. This is why shops need to thoroughly think through what to purchase when starting up a fresh new place or when having a refurbishment. It will also allow staff to get on with other work than having to guide lost customers around a maze of a store.

Most shops pick plain colours such as white or grey that will not draw any attention away from the stock of what they are selling. Many may think this seems like the obvious good idea however adding a splash of colour could look more inviting. Something that is popular is translucent units consisting of bright oranges, greens and other colours. These look great in the right themed store, and also help to add to the illusion of space. In a crowded space, having semi-transparent furniture will make it feel more open planned.

When customers are out shopping they want to be able to browse, find what they are looking for, try on if it is a clothes store, and finally purchase. Nobody wants to cause a fuss or break anything. Cheap fittings could cause problems for customers. Looking through a full rack of jeans to find your correct size and leg length right at the back, is crying out for the hanger to drop off. Thinking ahead on behalf of customers and buying quality fittings, as well as making sure the right amount of stock can be held comfortably, is a must.

Having the right layout will mean customers can wander into the store, feeling as though they are welcome. They may just be walking in to browse but will probably end up walking away with a bag or two of goods. All of these unthinkable scenarios brought about because of something as simple as shop fittings. It is worth putting the effort in beforehand than to find out later when you have an empty store.
