The Importance of Hiring and Professional Engineer

The other day, I went for a walk around the neighborhood that I live in when I noticed several construction workers gathered around a large piece of machinery. As I got closer to the area, I saw that this piece of machinery was, in fact, a giant machine the size of a small house. The machine was lifting a piece of the roof up to several construction workers who were reaching out to receive it and put it into place. Yesterday, when I walked past the same house, I noticed that it was totally completed.

It is amazing to think that a house can be built in just a day. It seems as if you have the manpower and the machinery that it will only take a matter of a few hours to completely construct a home from scratch. We own this luxury to the fact that we are now living in a day and age where technology is advanced and automation is in full swing. Thanks to phrases such as GE Fanuc PLC, engineers are able to construct machines that function almost entirely without human intervention, making the production process nearly seamless. Of course, as with the case of the house I saw being built, automation is popular but not entirely exclusive. There are still some machines that require a human presence, though minimal interaction is required beyond the push of a button.

It almost makes me think that one day; entire homes will be able to be constructed via automation and robots. All you'll have to do is pick a site where you want your home to be constructed, drop off the machines and let the machines simply get to work. While we are not quite at that point, it is still somewhat entertaining to think about.

For instance, if automation really did become a mainstay in the construction industry, what would then happen to all of those people who currently work as day laborers? Would they be out of a job? Would there be something else for them to do? These are questions worth pondering over at the moment, but it's not worth losing sleep over it just yet.

One thing is for certain where automation is involved, and that is the fact that it has made everyone's lives a little easier, and it has also cut down on overhead costs in many cases where manufacturing is involved.
