Keyword research is very critical to our online success, keywords or keyword phrases or; these are the helpful words that people are used to search items of his requirements on the internet.

People surf the internet for information to solve their problems, they might have or a need something they want, after all the www is commonly known as the information highway, which can help the people.

Keywords are the words or phrases that we type into the search engine i.e. Google, yahoo, etc. For example if we may have a problem with spots, so we may type in something like "spots" or "how do I get rid of spots" these are keywords or phrases, the latter known as "long tail" keywords these are more distinctive searches we know what we want to do and if our domain name and website content includes these words and phrases, search engine (like Google) will rank us for these keyword terms.

Just remember that Google and the other search engines are like ourself they are providing a service, so if we have done our keyword research and incorporated these words and phrase into our website we will be found :-)

It is Important that we know that we targeted market, like gender, age ect, so we can determine the language or lingo they speak, for example a teenager may type in "how do I get rid of spots" and adults may type in "how do I cure acne" they have the same problem but their search terms are different.

We can now see from that example, that how important that it is to know our market and our keyword searches.

You may be thinking that how many keywords do I need, well the answer to that is not clear but if you use it as a rule of thumb 100-200 keywords and phrases you can narrow them down to make them more laser targeted to your market or niche.

Now you have your list of keywords, you can think about a domain name which includes your main keyword Make sure that your keyword has low competition and decent search volume.

Thats why you have a chance of getting displayed on the first page of the search results, and their will be enough people looking for your keyword to visit your website.
