This kind of thinking is a big mistake for a window cleaner, not only that but it also comes off as extremely unprofessional.

Now from experience I can tell you that in most cases the customer does not care if your wear shoe covers or booties in their home, but I guarantee you that not all your customers will feel that way. One thing to look out for is shoe cubicles that your customer may have right outside or just on the inside of the front door. This is an indication that your window cleaning client is very particular about their floors, and wants most people to remove their shoes upon entering the home.

Now if you forget your window cleaning booties then it would be most respectful to take your shoes off and just wear your socks. This may seem uncomfortable at first but when it comes to respecting your clients home it is a must. Make sure your socks are clean and your feet do not smell. You do not want to embarrass yourself or make your customer feel uncomfortable. If you feel uncomfortable removing your shoes, that should be a good lesson and reminder from then on to always be prepared and pack shoe covers before you head out.

Obviously if your looking for the most professional look make sure to wear your booties. They allow you to wear your shoes while still keeping that gentle touch for the floors and carpets. By wearing shoe covers you are telling your customer that you care about them and their home, therefore leaving a lasting impression. Remember that if you want to offer a quality service that the window cleaning client will love then wear your shoe covers.
