Most of the time, especially if it is on an independent site, the reviews are truthful and you are able to get a good idea of what the guests are seeing on a regular basis.

It isn't frequently that a hotel will post a bad review on its own internet site. The most important thing being that you as the consumer can get a good idea of what to expect and then you can decide if you want to spend your money at that particular establishment. The internet, at least in this capacity has brought more freedom and choice to these seemingly simple decisions.
