Apple have recently unveiled their plans for the forthcoming months to the delight of the waiting public

. As expected there was an announcement on the release of the next generation iPhone, the iPhone 4S, and also the launch of a new smaller capacity iPhone 4. Here we take a brief look at what is coming from Apple in the coming months.

As a way of introducing a younger generation to the traditionally expensive iPhone range Apple are releasing a new 8GB version of the iPhone 4. Boasting the same specification as the original model the handset will be available in both White and Black finishes. Previously this model was only available in 16GB or 32GB sizes which inevitably kept the price quite high so expect to see this new smaller model debut at a more wallet friendly price point. The fact that Apple have not changed the body on the iPhone 4S means that the older model looks exactly the same which will add further appeal to the new iPhone 4 8GB. The younger generation consumer does not want to be seen with last seasons fashions so they can get their hands on this new model and look as though they are using the more premium 4S model. All of the great features we loved on the larger capacity models are present. The high quality Retina display still stands head and shoulders above the competition whilst the excellent Facetime feature enables cheap video calls to friends and family. Another aspect of this model that will appeal to the younger audience is the iPod software which allows the phone to be used as a high quality portable audio player.

The news of the launch of the iPhone 4 8GB has been understandably overshadowed by the details on the new iPhone 4S. Due for launch on the 15th of October this new model will see the introduction of a huge 64GB capacity model for the very first time. This huge storage volume will enable the handset to hold a massive amount of material including up to forty thousand music tracks. This high capacity is even more vital given that the model now sports 1080P video capture as well as an 8 million pixel digital still camera. Both of these new features require more space than previous versions that were present on earlier models. Fans of the white models will also be pleased to note that the phone will be available in this finish from launch unlike the original iPhone 4 which saw a white version released a year after the black model.

Apple seem to have all bases covered with their latest announcements. The new iPhone 4 8GB will make the range more accessible to a wider audience whilst the higher capacity new iPhone 4S will give the true multi media fans the highest specification smartphone on the market.
