The Job Of An Interior Designer

More and more are warming up to the idea of hiring an interior designer to beautify their homes and businesses

. However, not a lot of people have an idea of the distinct responsibilities of interior designers. It's easy to say that you need a designer. But convincing people becomes easier when you can point out or give them an idea how interior designers can specifically help them.

So get this, an interior designer is not just someone who has an innate love for the arts. These people are not just random people who decided to decorate strangers' homes. They are, in fact, qualified by education, examination as well as experience. These people had to learn how to properly enhance the beauty, quality and functionality of interior spaces. Interior designers design a home or a business space to improve productivity, quality of life and protect the health, safety and welfare of the people who will be using that particular space. Also, a professional interior designer is responsible for doing the following tasks:

1. Professional interior designers will analyze the needs and goals of the clients. They also need to know your lifestyle as well as your safety requirements

2. After assessing your needs and your space, they will integrate their findings with what they know about interior design


3. Then, the interior designer will create and formulate an initial design concept. He or she will make sure that this designs is appropriate, aesthetic and functional as well

4. Then, they will develop this concept. Afterwhich, they will present the final design to you through the right presentation media

5. Then the interior designer will prepare the drawings and other specifications needed for the interior construction. For example: materials, finishes, furnishings, fixtures, equipments and so on.

6. Then, they will also work with other professionals from different fields to help them with some areas in your house. For example: mechanical, electrical, load-bearing designs and so on.

7. Then, the interior designer will prepare and administer the bids as well as other contract documents. The interior designer will act as the client's agent

8. Then, he or she will also be in charged with the review and evaluation of design solutions during and after the project.

So these are the responsibilities of interior designers. You can always talk to them if you have a problem with their design or if you want to modify something. Just as long as it will not compromise functionality, safety and aesthetics of the design, everything can be changed according to your preference.
