The Journey From Graphics To The Walk Of Game

Apart from the marketing strategy and its strength in the content of the video game

, the Sega Mascot is a powerful combination of skills and personality. Their first game was launched in 1991 and there has been no looking back for Sega since then.

Sonic the hedgehogs onscreen presence is a culmination of several humane and supernatural traits. Not only is he a great friend but he is also credited to be a valiant fighter in situations where outsiders threaten his planet. He is credited with being able to run faster than light and he is capable of coiling into a ball to be able to attack his foes. Sometimes he hurls obstacles in their way to keep them from their evil ways. Overall, Sonic the hedgehog is the good guy who is fighting against evil.

Sega had roped in several actors to help them with the voiceovers for Sonic the hedgehog. The initial voice samples in the game series are anonymous. Takeshi Kusao in the Sega Sonic the Hedgehog did the first ever-notable voiceover. This responsibility was transitioned over to Junichi Kanemaru who saw the game series through sonic adventures. However, amongst all these, Jaleel White performed for the series Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic underground.

Ryan Drummond did the first English voice acting for Sonic and he continued doing so until 2004. Consequently, Jason Anthony Griffith took over because of his previous liaison with the American dub for the Sonic Anime Series. In all the game series, the protagonist Sonic the hedgehog is assisted with a host of other characters. Through the evolution of the game other characters are introduced such as, Amy his love, Dr. Robotnik also known as Dr. Eggman. He is the main enemy during the game series. Sonic also has a look alike who goes by the name of Metal Sonic and he helps to cover Sonic in his absence. He has a good friend in Miles tails Prower. Knuckles is another friend of Sonic even though he is led astray by Dr. Robotnik.

While Sega was busy counting profits from Sonic, they also cashed in on his celebrityDom. This was made possible by Sonics cameo appearance in various other Sega game series such as Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, Phantasy Star Universe, and the remake of Samba De Amigo. Other publishers have also used Sonic the Hedgehog repeatedly. To name a few, he made special appearances in Shining Force 2, Art Alive, Rad Mobile, The Simpsons Game, the Incredible Hulk, Clockwork Knight 2 and the road stretched to the video adaptation of Tom and Jerry. With such big names by its side, it was no surprise that Sonic also made special appearances in The Simpsons, and in an episode of Malcolm in the middle.

The fact that all this hype around an animation character was here to stay was asserted even more so when Segas brand ambassador was inducted in the Walk of Game along with tenured characters such as Mario and Link.
