Modern beings have an immensely close relationship with electricity as it is virtually impossible to disassociate their life from it

. Electricity surrounds us every time and can be used in thousands of different ways in our daily life. The use of electricity has dramatically changed our daily lives. Despite of its great importance in our everyday lives, few of us practicably stop to think what life would be like without it.

Before the availability of electricity, over 100 of years ago, houses were lit with kerosene lamps and rooms were warmed by wood-burning. Due to availability of electricity and electrical devices, our life has become more relaxed and convenient. Hence, electricity is an all time invention of the mankind and because of their day to day use, electric bulbs are one of its greatest achievement. Can you imagine a life without these electric lamps and bulbs? No you cant. With the help of these bulbs, illuminating the world after the sunlight would not be messy and hazardous anymore.

In the ancient times, only incandescent bulbs (designed by Sir Thomas Edison) were available but an array of bulbs are now available in the market. Nowadays for different kind of purposes different kinds of bulbs are available. Some of these kinds of bulbs are halogen bulbs, xenon bulbs, Incandescent bulbs, Carbon filament lamps, LED bulbs, 3157 bulbs etc. All these different kind of bulbs plays vital role in our daily life. These bulbs can be classified according to their uses and compositions of gases used in it. Some bulbs are manufactured for high frequency light; some of them are used for household purposes while some of the bulbs are used in the cars for lightening and indicating purposes.

It is said that the metal halide bulbs are more convenient than the incandescent bulbs. However the energy consumption of these kinds of bulbs is less and the versatility of light is more. You can use these kinds of bulbs in homes, streets or parks for lightening purposes. The bulbs which are more compact and having better life span of about 7000-8000 hours are Compact fluorescent bulbs (CFL bulbs). These bulbs can be used in homes, offices and laboratories.

Besides that there are other kinds of bulbs, namely LED bulbs. Due to long life span and particular distribution of light, these bulbs can be termed as the future of bulbs. These LED bulbs differs in color, voltage consumption, shape etc. The other important categories of bulbs are 3057 and 3157 bulbs. These kinds of bulbs are automotive bulbs and are widely used for lightening and indicating purposes. These bulbs are made to provide an ease to driver while driving. According to automobile engineers and electricians, the 3157 bulbs are more compatible.
