The Key To Positive Affirmations Is How You Feel Not What You Say!
Have you ever told yourself a number of positive affirmations such as; I like myself
, I am great, I am worthwhile, I am calm and confident yet still felt poor? If you are a fan of The Secret or the Law of Attraction you know that visualizing your future with positive emotions is one of the keys to manifesting your desires.
So when you stop to think about the process it becomes apparent that manifesting a future reality has at least two parts. The first is holding a clear picture in your mind of the things you wish to manifest. The second is to see that picture with as many good feelings as possible. Then a third process is involved and that is to focus on your vision or wish as though it had already happened.
Now there may be some other steps involved but for this discussion the focus will be on separating feelings from positive thoughts.
This action can be explained fairly easily by thinking about how you feel when you are love struck or really in love with someone as opposed to just thinking about the idea of love. When you really feel it has a different energy. No doubt you have also experienced having positive thoughts about something but at the same time having a gut feeling that tells you something is not right.
Part of the significance of this information is you need good sustained feelings to make lasting paradigm or belief changes in your life. This very action may explain why your attending positive thinking seminars has only limited affects. That is because even though you are able to change your attitude for a short time, your long term belief system remains intact and soon takes back over.
It has been known for years that what you think about on a daily basis seems to create a self fulfilling prophecy and if you tie this into the Placebo effect you might have part of the answer to why certain disease processes happen.
What you need to be alert to is that your thoughts and feelings are two separate entities and if you are working on personal development it will be helpful to recognize the difference.
So in your work of self improvement you may wish to consider focusing more on your feelings than on your thoughts even though both are important.
Try to start off every day with getting in touch with how you feel inside. Then compare that with some wonderful or fabulous time you may have had in your life. If you have ever felt a sustained moment of ecstasy, bliss, awe, joy or pure love you will have a measuring line or device to put up beside your everyday or general feelings.
For those of your who have feelings of ecstasy, bliss, awe, joy or pure love most of the time then you have arrived at the natural energy state that we all seek and should be feeling all the time.
Sadly modern society has socialized most people out of their good feelings and has replaced them with fear, doubt, anger, resentment and depression but this all can be changed.
The change that can be made is a change we all can partake of. By simply smiling more and becoming aware of your own feelings you will not only increase your own wellbeing but the health of all you meet. By making an effort to help others, with acts of kindness, joy and love you assist in a healing of unknown proportions.
