The Lapland Ice Hotel and its 20th Anniversayr Celebrations

The Ice hotel is built from scratch every year and a team of architects and designers make and create the Ice hotel different every year with different themes and different rooms. The ice hotel is unique and has many things to do and see, from the fantastic ice sculptures outside and the wonderful ice chapel where you can get married surrounded by the magical glory of a white Christmas. There is also the wooden chapel on sight which is an alternative to the ice chapel for weddings.

The ice hotel also hosts its own activities, from Husky sledging, to Northern light trips, the ice hotel is a haven of activity where the fun never ends. There are also some great snowmobile trips across the open expanses of snow.

The ice hotel bar provides some great food with drinks served in real ice glasses. There are many trips to the Ice hotel and many of them involve snowmobile trips which include refreshments in the ice bar. There are also opportunities to stay in the hotel on an ice bed. The ice bed is covered in Reindeer skin and you are provided with a thermal sleeping bag and although it may be cold, you will be more than warm and snugly in a warm sleeping bag. There are many rooms to choose from and there is also the opportunity to sleep in some of the warmer rooms which are part of the ice hotel but are built using wood, this allows you to experience the wonder of the ice hotel and the warmth of the other rooms.

The ice hotel is to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2010 and there are many activities planned. The celebrations will start with a New Years Eve celebration where there will be many celebrations including acts which will perform on the Ice hotel stage. There will also be some great food served in the Restaurant and there are many packages in which to choose from.

This year is set to be the biggest celebration so far and many visitors are planned to come from far and wide to see the latest Ice hotel design and given the anniversary, this year celebrations are going to be the biggest yet.

Combining a snowmobile trip to the ice hotel is a good way to experience the snowmobiles and visit one of the most exciting attractions which will certainly be a trip of a lifetime.
