They have lots of power but have shed the high fuel burn and the noise of the older style straight turbojet engines. The cruising speed is a very quick 457 knots, or at 525 miles per hour, so it has the capability of moving you around the country rapidly, the maximum speed being 464 knots.

It climbs like a home-sick angel, initial rate of climb is 4000 fpm at typical takeoff weights, getting you out of of the haze and "Indian Country" and up into the fuel-saving Flight Levels in no time. The machine has a range of 2120 nautical miles its service ceiling is 51,000 feet. The maximum payload weight with full fuel is slightly over 1100 pounds. Vertical winglets improve the swept wing jet's high AoA handling and stall traits at low speeds.

The Learjet 45 has a cockpit with a Honeywell four screen Primus 1000 EFIS avionics system. Also included as standard equipment are many safety features, a Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS II), Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS), as well as certified GPS. Seating capacity is eight passengers or it can squeeze nine if the lavatory is include, it counts as a certified seat.

The cabin gives you plenty of room to stretch out, it's the longest cabin within the class. It has many, many amenities including a huge baggage compartment, digital phone with modem port, a video monitor and DVD player, electrical power outlets, an Airshow 400 inflight information system, cassette player, stereo CD, and air conditioning that can be run while on the ground, and also leather seats along with a private lavatory equipped with a sink and lighted mirror.
