The Lego Minifigures Series Is Great For Imaginative Play

Since the introduction of the Lego minfigures series

, it has grown quite measurably in popularity. There are now seven different series to collect, each with its own mix of interesting characters you can use to interact with your Lego sets. The availability of the minifigures series adds a new dimension to toys & games, as the combinations between various sets and the different minifigures means there is literally unlimited scope for imaginative play and make believe. Children absolutely love making up their own games and stories, and the minifigures series give them the characters they need.

Take minifigures series 1 for example, first of all you have a cheerleader who is absolutely bursting with energy and is ready to cheer on your other minifigures in whatever they are doing, and a magician to perform magic tricks for an audience. It doesnt take too much basic imagination to see how these two minifigures can go well together. Perhaps the cheerleader can even double as the magicians assistant (although dont try to saw her in half!).

In addition to the magician and cheerleader, there are fourteen other minifigures to collect in series 1 making a total of 16, and dont forget after that you can move onto minifigure series 2 and all the others. The remaining minifigs in series 1 include a really scary zombie, but dont worry hes mostly harmless. A robot, a deep-sea diver, a ninja, a nurse, a skater and even an astronaut. You can have hours of fun with any of these characters, and you can combine them together to have even more interesting adventures.

Each minifigure in the minifigures series 1 set comes in a mystery sealed bag, so you never really know which one you may get. You may also end up with duplicates that you can trade with friends, or keep. You could have two or more spacemen so they can go on missions together, or perhaps a whole group of cheerleaders so they can dance and cheer in unison. Or how about a pack of zombies that you have to defeat using your other minifigures?

Once youve collected all the figures in minifigures series 1, move on to series 2 to have even more fun. In minifigures series 2 you can have fun in Egypt with the Egyptian pharaoh and the explorer. You can also pit the skills of the ninja in minifigure series 1 against the karate master in series 2. Dont forget that all the minifigures in series 2 are compatible with your new ones, and because theyre Lego they can be combined to create all kinds of scenes and situations. In series 2 you also get a lifeguard, which you can use to rescue other minifigures that are drowning, and even a traffic cop to keep everything flowing smoothly. A pop star is available to entertain the crowds, and if you need a sideshow the mime can entertain with his interchangeable heads. Now that you have a number of entertainers in your set, youll also need someone to introduce them, so in minifigures series 2 you also get a ringmaster.

All of the available minifigures series sets are great value for money, and your child will have hours of fun playing with them and making up games and stories for them to act out. With seven minifigures series to collect, theres always a new combination that sparks the imagination.
