. The X7675 can be connected to a computer by USB 2.0 and also has connections for a fax modem and local handset. It is possible to print photos straight from memory cards and USB keys and you can see photos on a 2.4 inch LCD screen before you print them.

To print you only need a single black and a single colour inkjet cartridge. To put them in you need to lift up the scanner. The X7675 is supplied with high yield cartridges which allow about 500 pages of black pages and 350 of colour. If you want to print better photos there is a separate photo ink cartridge.

Prints made using the X7675 were of a high standard with no obvious problems. A page of black and white text was printed in 7.7 seconds while a page of colour took 29.1 seconds. Full-page high quality copies took about 62 seconds and high-quality 6x4 prints took about 72 seconds.

The X7675 wasn't bad at scanning. At 70 seconds for a 600 dpi scan this was slightly slow and colour accuracy was reasonable.

In terms of copying the X7675 was easy to use with its built-in display and clearly labelled buttons. Full colour copies took about 45 seconds to complete and it is possible to make up to 99 copies at a time and reduce and enlarge. It is also possible to make copies from the 25-page document feeder or the scanner.

It is easy to send faxes using the X7675. Copies of scans can be kept on hard disc using the software that comes with the machine and email can be scanned and captured documents can be converted and edited with OCR. The X7675 makes it easy to send faxes remotely.

A duplex unit built into the X7675 lets you print on both sides of the paper automatically. This machine can't really be used for large amounts of printing at one time as the input tray only takes 100 pages.

In conclusion I would say the X7675 is a good machine. You can use it for many different purposes, it is well built and the five-year warranty gives peace of mind. Admittedly this machine will not do things as well as a dedicated printer or scanner etc but it is compact and does nothing badly. I like the Lexmark X7675.
