The Lg Pop Is A Useful Social Networking Tool!

The LG Pop GD510; its slim, sleek, affordable and efficient

LG have decided they want to give there customers a Smartphone experience for a fair cost, the Pop delivers this with finesse and elegance with its shiny silver finish and chrome trim, there is a very pretty 3inch touch screen and the A-Class user interface is full of beans and very colourful. The slender GD510 also packs a very usable web browser and a full multimedia player which is accompanied by an FM radio tuner.

The phone has been designed to catch the eye whilst remaining tough and sturdy for everyday use, its matt silver bodywork has been intricately detailed with some spots of chrome and the Pops dimensions are 97.8 x 49.5 x 11.2mm, its slim waistline and lightweight chassis which only weighs 87g make the phone very comfortable to handle and very pocketable. The 3inch WQVGA display is receptive and lively and it does a good job of showing off the unique user interface LG are using; the A-Class overlay offers three easy to use rotating home screens for you to mount your favourite and most used features and applications, one of these screens is LGs LiveSquare; it hosts a family of tiny animated avatars which can represent your favourite and recently used contacts, they are roaming around a colourful background, minding there own business until you wish to contact one, to do so you simply pick one up and drag it to the form of communication you desire.

The main home screen is where all the action is, by tapping the tab at the bottom of the screen you bring up a littlie toolbar which carries all of your widgets; you can drag and drop these widgets anywhere on your home screen, and you have widgets for social networking, news, weather, Google search and a load more, by simply shaking the Pop you align all of the widgets you dropped on the screen so they sit neatly ready for you to tap. The LG Pop is compatible with both Facebook and Twitter and it supports a fully capable web browser, it relies on its quad band GSM and EDGE data connections to tackle your online activities, it is not a particularly fast experience but this can be forgiven as the Pop is a Budget Smartphone! LG have given you the opportunity to expand the memory space with its microSD card slot, it will comfortably handle cards up to 8GB so you will have loads of potential storage space for videos, music and photos and the phone in-built Bluetooth technology means you can wirelessly share you content with friends. The phone has a 3 mega pixel digital camera; the image and video quality arent amazing but I didnt expect them to be as the phone is in the sub-100 category, the music player does what it says on the tin and the video player much the same. A 3.5mm jack means you can listen to downloaded tunes and radio stations with your favourite pair of headphones.

In my opinion LG have accomplished what they set out to do, they have built on previous success stories like the affordable Cookie KP500 and the finished article is the LG Pop GD510. It lets you manage your social network accounts and browse the internet and it delivers all of its features through a very playful and accessible user interface which is very easy to use. It has been perfectly put together for new Smartphone users and is the perfect phone to Pop your Smartphone cherry!
