The Life On Campus: Drawing Parallels With Media Depictions

Watching movies about students life, a few issues might require clarification

. Although partially exaggerated, most aspects of students culture are truthfully reflected in such movies. The exaggeration part might be concerned with the leisure part of students culture, where media mostly depict a care-free life in which students main tasks are to have as much fun as they could. The relatively true aspects are mostly concerned with depicting students life on campuses. In that regard, the present article will attempt to summarize common elements of students life on campus.

Brochures

The first true aspect of the life in campus is that it does not look similar to the way it is depicted in brochures. In brochures, students are mostly lying on the grass, playing games, and participate in some care-free activities. The truth is that most students are always in motion. The percentage of those lying on the grass is incomparable to those who are just passing by from one location to another. On campus, there is always what to do and where to go. The other thing to mention is that students do study in colleges and universities, and thus, with all the assignments, tests, deadlines, and courseworks, there is little to be excited about. Depicting faces filled with excitement and joy is good in promoting a joyful atmosphere on campus. It is not totally true though. It is like saying all people go to their work with a smile. Some do, but most people do not.

Parties

Well, parties do exist on campus. In some movies their frequency is exaggerated, while in other they show students drinking too much. The point is that parties are inseparable aspects of campuses. Are they good or bad? The answer is the same as the movies in which these parties are depicted. Some of them are good, while others are bad. You task is not to fall into bad ones.
