The Light Spectrum Of Led Emergency Vehicle Lights

The normal response of a human mind to an approaching emergency vehicle is that of discomfort and trepidation

. The combined onslaught of the siren and colors on human senses is obviously negative, mainly because of the type of jobs that emergency vehicles are engaged in. Still, there is no denying the fact that LED emergency vehicle lights are bright and beautiful. The LED lights that are used in these warning lights are quite suitable for a carnival venue, or for home decoration.

It is the screeching sound of the siren that has a stronger role in creating a sense of anxiety in human mind, than the blinking red, blue, and white lights of a police car or fire engine. In fact, when it is used in police vehicles, it is only red LED emergency vehicle lights that signify a potential danger or probable disaster. On fire trucks also red denotes the color of emergency. Since fire trucks will be on the move only when a fire has broken out, it will always be an emergency.

Blue lights, as part of LED emergency vehicle lights, are less indicative of danger. On police vehicles, blue could signify different things. Sometimes, a blue light is a communication from the police to the occupant of another vehicle to stop and respond to their queries. Or blue lights could be just a response to the awaiting public that police has arrived and will be in charge. Blue LED emergency vehicle lights are also used in many places by emergency medical technicians and volunteer firefighters as courtesy lights. Courtesy lights do convey to other drivers that the vehicle that sports the blue light would like to be allowed to go fast. But it does not give the vehicle the privilege to screech through the street, totally disregarding road rules, and the conveniences of the other vehicles on the street.

Amber is also a color that is part of the LED emergency vehicle lights spectrum. Amber light is also not indicative of any disaster or crisis, and is a cautionary light. Towing trucks, or vehicles of law enforcement agencies followings processions, use amber lights to warn other vehicles to move slow. Parked vehicles like delivery trucks, construction site equipments, or vehicles stationed on private roads, may also use amber light to make themselves visible. Police vehicles often use an amber colored arrow stick to guide traffic.

The light spectrum of LED emergency vehicle lights is, however, not restricted to just blue, red, amber, and white. Rarely though, other colors are also used. A green light is sported by volunteer firefighters in some states and in some other states it is used by private security guards. In some states of USA, and in Canada, purple LED emergency vehicle lights are sported by funeral vehicles. Purple finds use in pilot vehicles in New Zealand, while in Australia it is used in the vehicles of people known as council rangers whose duty is to enforce government by-laws.

Though LED lights can create a multitude of colors, the light spectrum of LED emergency vehicle lights is restricted to these few colors.
