The Los Angeles County is a county in California

, located south of the state. Its population is 10,245,672 inhabitants . This is the most populous county in the United States, and its population is higher than 43 states. Its county seat is Los Angeles.

The county has an area of 10,518 square kilometers and is located along the Pacific Ocean. The coast, along the coast for a hundred miles, and the Los Angeles Basin, constitute much of the urban area of Greater Los Angeles and include most of the population. It is a highly urbanized region characterized by a strong urban sprawl, divided into several areas: the east is East Los Angeles and San Gabriel Valley, West Los Angeles and West Beach Cities, north the valleys of San Fernando, Antelope and Santa Clarita, and southern regions of South Bay, Palos Verdes Peninsula, South Central Los Angeles and the Gateway Cities. The central region is occupied by Downtown Los Angeles South Central Los Angeles and Mid-Wilshire. The rivers that feed it are Los Angeles, Rio Hondo, San Gabriel and Santa Clara.

The population density is 905 inhabitants per km. 48.71 of the population identified themselves as white, 9.78 African American, 0.81 Native American, 11.95 Asian, and 0.28 Pacific Islander, 23.53 of another ethnic group, 4.94 from two or more ethnic groups. 44.56 of the population is Hispanic (a concept which does not prejudice any ethnic group). 31.1 of the population Channel, in other words, non-Hispanic white.

Of the 3,133,774 households, 36.8 had one or more children under 18 years, 47.6 were married couples living together, 14.7 had a female head of household with no husband present, and 31.8 were non-family households. 24.6 of all households were made up of an individual living alone and 7.1 of a single individual of 65 or more. The average number of persons per household was 2.98 and the average family size was 3.61 members. For 28 of inhabitants were under 18 years, 10.3 between 18 and 24 years, 32.6 of 25-44 years, 19.4 of 45-64 years and 9.7 65 years or more. The average age was 32 years.

In January 2008, the population was 10,363,850 (about 27 of the total population of California) is an increase of 8.1 since 2000.
