Agatha Christie purchased the estate in 1938, being born in Torquay in 1890. She died in 1976. The estate is often used as a backdrop for her many stories.
For those feeling adventurous, there is the Becky Falls Woodland Park. Voted as Devons Top Beauty Spot, there is something here for everyone to take pleasure in. It is set within a stunning ancient valley, with the falls having attracted visitors for over a century. Located on Dartmoor it is particularly good for children to visit, as there are childrens activities each day with prizes being given. The location has remained relatively unchanged, so people often talk about visiting one of the most untouched parts of Dartmoor.
