. This pad has vertical grooves which feel good on bare feet, and it has a sticky texture on the bottom so that the pad won't slip. This pad is also more responsive, and it features a silhouette of a break-dancing Mario in the center making it a cool collector's item as well.

The game that the Mario dance pad comes with is a bit slow. This is not something that would appeal to those who are doing well on the Dance Dance Revolution game because the music and dance steps are a bit slower. This makes it a good game for those who are having trouble with the other games, but want to get practice with DDR.

The story line in the game is very well done. The visual images that are packed into the game for the Mario dance pad are extremely fun. Going through the levels and completing the game is quite fun even if the steps for the dances are a bit slower. For those of us who actually enjoy playing the Mario games it could be quite fun, but for those who like the Dance Revolution games they might be a bit disappointed. This game is not as difficult as some of the other Dance Revolution games so it could be boring for those who are used to more of a challenge.

On the other hand, the Mario Dance Pad could be more than sufficient for younger kids who like the idea of the Dance Revolution games but aren't quite coordinated enough to score well on them. Starting off on this easier game would be a good idea for those kids who still want to play on the pad but would enjoy watching the story of Mario unfold as well. It really is a good mix of fun and exercise that the younger crowd could easily enjoy.

All in all, the Mario Dance Pad might not be something that some Dance Revolution fans are looking for. It's not going to have the same level of challenges that the other DDR games have. However, for those who want to have fun stomping on bad guys and chasing mushrooms it could be just the ticket. Any Mario fan would enjoy this game, and it would be good for the younger kids that are getting discouraged with the difficulty level of the Dance Dance Revolution games.
