The Mercy of God falls on the believers only!
The Mercy of God falls on the believers only!
The Mercy of God falls on the believers only!
The mercy of God is absolute and in the scriptures we read the All Merciful, the All compassionate. But is there a limit to His mercy that betakes only certain category of people under consideration and others earn the wrath of God only?
Some think that God's mercy covers and should cover everyone, the good as well the bad, the rightful as well as the sinful.
But we are informed in the scriptures namely the Torah, the Gospel and the Qur'an, as well as in the David's Psalms, that God is merciful for all who take His path and believe in Him. As for those who deny God and reject to believe in Him, they shall receive a terrible doom. Those who believe in Him, worship Him and serve Him shall earn for themselves a great reward in the hereafter and gain eternal felicity.
It would be argued from this point of view that those who believe in Him are those who believe in the truth of the existence of God, do good in their lives and shun evil. They fear the day of reckoning and prepare for it.
As for those who deny God and disbelieve in Him they deny the truth and belie the signs of God, His messages and His messengers as well as the day of judgment. They, by doing so deny the truth. And nobody accepts, or likes, those who belie his words, be it a human being or otherwise.
It is specifically this act of belying the signs of truth that merit its owner punishment and what more terrible punishment than belying the words of God?
If you tell something true to a friend and he does not believe you, you feel his belying you and that he does not trust you. You would retaliate with anger and dismay, and abhorrence. You would not tell those who make of a you a liar friends any more and you would reject them.
At a level of the divine, the creator of the universe, life and all its manifestations, humans or otherwise, the fault is more devastating, more immense and the sin is terrible, you belie the word of God. So how would you imaging God's reaction to your attitude? How would you yourself, if you speak the truth and people deny what you say?
You are free to do so, free to believe or not to believe. But, how can you expect the mercy of God to fall on you if belie His words and His signs?
How would you expect His mercy, being absolute and limitless, to cover you, while you have disbelieved in Him and belied his words?
