The Miller county Museum situated in the building of old anchor mill has many excellent examples of, Native American heritage, local folk life and early home accessories as well as the, agriculture of a bygone era, day to day machines, crafts, and schools
The museum and building serve as a monument for the proud culture of the Miller county people. As a museum of folk life, it generate an exact sight of the society of central Missouri, its, agriculture, churches, schools, crafts, early home accessories machine and Indian that were standing alone to Miller county History. The miller county museum is now the shelter of 2 genuine wood houses both took off from their real models in Glaize Township and assembled on the museum lands. One of the houses was built by John Williams in the late 1850s for a slave woman and her child. Peter Button Lupardus built the Lupardus log home in the 1880s for his family.
Inside the museum
One of the more prominent displays in the museum features an old handmade quilt located in the upper level of the new addition on the south end. The quilt is displayed inside a large glass cabinet especially designed for its viewing.
Museum has many quilts on display in the museum but this one has special significance. It's a Victorian quilt made prior of 1899 as a fundraiser by the ladies for the Iberia Methodist church in which more than 300 names are embroidered on the quilt.
Location of Miller County
Miller County lies in the south central Missouri, in the northern foothills of the Ozark Plateau. Although both areal and quadrilateral centers of the state are located in the northeastern part of the country, the distance of the Low a Missouri boundary is county; the distance to the lowas Missouri boundary is considerably greater than the distance to the Arkansas Missouri line. There are about six tiers of counties to the northern boundary of the state, but only five can be counted of the county, is about 160 miles due south of the northern boundary of the state and about 120 miles north of the southern. The distance from Tuscumbia to the eastern and western boundaries of the state is almost the same.
Miller County is bounded on the west by Morgan and Camden, on the south by Camden and Pulaski, on the east by Maris and Osage and on the north by Cole and Moniteau counties. It contains about 590 square miles of land, being the fifty seventh in rank among the 114 counties of the state in regard to area.

In the identical attitude of neighborliness that the Osage Indians granted to the early leaders of Miller County, the Historical society welcomes you to tour their facilities. The miller county museum is open mid May through mid September, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
