The Most Common Causes Of Female Baldness

Share: When it comes to male pattern baldness, the cause
, the root of the problem is obvious: It's hereditary, it's genetic. This just plain happens to guys with too much testosterone, and too much testosterone usually runs in the family. The causes of female baldness can be a little trickier to figure out.
The fact is that female baldness can be caused by a wide range of problems, but, as with any issue, there are a few root causes that are more common than any of the others. If you're suffering from thinning or major hair loss, then you've come to the right place.
Hormonal Imbalance
Sometimes female hair loss can be linked to hormonal imbalances. This isn't the MOST common reason, but it's common enough that it deserves mention on this list. This can usually be corrected by hormonal supplements, a change in one's diet, or even with topical treatments that use hormones to encourage hair growth.

Share: Follicle Damage
Sometimes the hair loss is just the hair itself getting damaged and falling out. If you tease your hair too much, if you use a lot of chemicals and treatments and dyes to get it looking just like you please, then the first step is, well, to knock it off. If you want your hair to stay where it belongs, you've got to be nicer to it. So start by cutting out the chemicals, and then look into topical treatments to help restore hair growth.
Scalp Damage
The most common cause of female hair loss and thinning would have to be scalp damage. This occurs, much like with follicle damage, when women just can't leave their hair alone. Many chemical treatments can do this to your hair, while the most common causes tend to be things like perming and straightening one's hair. This isn't good for your scalp at all. The damage, the stress you put your scalp through just isn't worth it, because your hair may look great at first, but you'll pay the price in the end. Again, just stop the harsh treatment of your head, and start using a topical application to encourage hair growth.
Stress
Sometimes, hair simply falls out because we're stressed. Let's be blunt here: If you're a mother, especially if you're a single mother, this is probably why you're having trouble with your hair. Use a hormonal treatment to regrow your hair, and make sure to take some time for yourself to relax. Get a vacation in, read some favorite books, and leave the kids with the babysitter now and then to have a night to yourself.
