In certain industries it is important to determine the integrity of a material long before that material is used in any sort of project.

Let's say for example you were working at a company that cuts 2x4 pieces of wood. This type of wood typically goes to stores and lumber yards frequented by construction crews that are working on large projects such as houses. One thing is certain: these materials need to be up to par when distributed to stores. If they are not, then they could become faulty at the work site, and even end up hurting someone in the final construction.

Naturally there will be some materials that need to be thrown out, but almost every material can be used for some purpose. In the case of wood, it can always be recycled as paper, but as you can imagine that is a last resort.

As you can clearly see, surface area analysis is not a simple luxury. This is a technology that needs to be used in any material industry to determine whether or not a material is safe for use in production. There was a time when we did not have such technology and thinking back on those days, it is almost like we were flipping a coin and hoping for the best.

Times have changed, technology has advanced, and with a surface area analysis, we no longer have to be in the dark! We can determine the surface area, composition, and integrity of almost any material on Earth. Not only does this help with the sale of material, it actually contributes to the saving of human life in the long run, which is the greatest investment of all.
