The Most Effective Natural Cure On Earth
I thought I would start out today by posing a question:
What is the most effective natural cure on earth?
Could it be broccoli? Or perhaps spinach?
A good number of people would say it's green tea.
Practitioners of Chinese Medicine might refer you to the Cordyceps mushroom, or Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract.
Holistic medicine practitioners might say it's a berry, or a combination of berries of different colors.
All of those things are good for you, but they are not the most natural cure on earth.
The most natural cure on earth is: FAT!
Dr. Jonny Bowden, author of "The Most Effective Natural Cures On Earth" says:
"If there was one supplement I could mandate for the entire population of the world, it would unquestionably be omega-3's. Fish oil has been shown in research to reduce blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels, the two most important risk factors for heart disease."
Even the ultra-conservative and way behind the times American Heart Association recommends 2-4 grams of omega-3 fats per day.
Fatty acids and omega-3's have been shown to reduce inflammation, (which is the root cause of many diseases), including Alzheimer's and diabetes. Omega-3s have a profound effect on the brain, and have been studied in relation to depression, bi-polar disorder, and attention deficit disorder (ADD).
In addition, fat has been shown to prevent degenerative eye disease.
Over the past four decades, fat has been given a bum rap. Dieticians, nutritionists, medical researchers, doctors and other medical specialists got it wrong. They bad rapped beef in particular, pork, and forced producers to produce leaner products, all of which don't taste like the real deal--because they aren't.
Gary Taube, a scientific journalist, says that decreasing, or eliminating meat in the diet...and adding carbohydrates to replace it, can actually increase the level of triglycerides and reduce the number of high density lipoproteins...the good cholesterol in the body.
The consequence of this is that it may increase one's risk of heart disease.
What we know now for certain is that to eat healthy means getting enough fat.
