He can't tell you his last ten bets, doesn't remember exactly why he bet them, etc. Despite all the hard work his partner did handicapping the races, he has frittered away their money and they didn't make a profit. Does any of this sound familiar? Even if the handicapper is only mediocre, a really good money manager who understands odds and probabilities can make money.

A good handicapper who is a poor money manager, on the other hand, is doomed. The same is true of almost any venture in life involving money and investment. Therefore, starting today, make up your mind to be a better money manager. Start planning and writing down your plan for how you will manage your bankroll.
