Oprah. Of course Oprah is a big celebrity, a humanitarian, a famous television personality and the backer behind productions like Precious one of the most celebrated films of the past year. With billions of dollars to her credit, Oprah is one of those people who can be seen across various satellite TV channels, not just her own which will be coming on air later this year. Her recipe for success has had a lot to do with being visible across all forms of media and growing and changing with the times. Shes got her trademark talk show, a magazine, website, radio station and various television specials and offshoots as well as the aforementioned movie productions. All in all, that kind of power and pull makes for one powerful lady.

Beyonce. Another lady that needs no second name, but certainly has one anyway, Beyonce Knowles has created an empire based off an initial girl-group rise to fame with Destinys Child. Today, she is worth millions per annum and makes her money touring, creating a fashion line, a perfume, and endorsements for everything from LOreal to Nintendo. Oh, yes, and shes married to another one of the music industrys top earners, Jay-Z. Try flipping on a satellite TV music channel (thats not CMT of course!) without seeing one of these two, and see just how challenging it can be!

James Cameron. It seems like just yesterday that Cameron was making headlines for his record breaking efforts with the film Titanic. Now, hes done it again, outdoing himself in many ways, with the film Avatar. Between the regular and 3-D showings, the film was more seen than any other in history as the highest grossing film in history. Now with DVD and Blu-ray sales adding to the padding in his pockets, it looks like the film is not one that will be shuffled to late night satellite TV showings anytime soon.

Using the internet to her favor shes gotten lots of hits on various music videos, video clips and photos, only adding to her fame instead of letting the internet simply detract from her dollars and royalties as many musicians complain it does.

Tiger Woods. Another man that is known not only in the sports world but in popular media by a first name only, Tiger has surprised many by maintaining his top 5 status on the list despite a year fraught with scandal. While he lost endorsements with some giant players, the ones he has kept have kept him going strong. With his scandal coming later in the year, however, by this time next year he may be fighting for a place on the list.
