Ford has been producing the Ford Fiesta since 1976
, thats over 30 years of having the popular supermini around. I would take a guess that 80% of the drivers in their twenties and early thirties learnt to drive in a Ford Fiesta.
The Fiesta is available as a 3 door or 5 door hatchback, a small van and even as a saloon in some parts of the world. The 2010 Fiesta is the 6th generation Fiesta and is sold worldwide under Fords one Ford mantra. Since 1976 over twelve million Fiestas have been sold, no wonder Fiesta parts are so popular!
Ford has been evolving the Fiesta with customer and market demands, the cheap little run around has now almost become a premium model, with big car features and safety equipment good enough to give its larger competitors a good run for their money. A few examples of the Fiestas equipment;

Ford also realised that the new Fiesta would have to be environmentally friendly and be very fuel efficient, its competitors have introduced new models with very low CO2 emissions and impressive MPG figures. To deal with this Ford unveiled the Ford Fiesta ECOnetic model, which emits just 98g/km of carbon dioxide and can do 78 miles to the gallon. It uses the 1.6 Duratorq TDCi engine, but with an added diesel particulate filter.
The Fiesta ECOnetic is road tax exempt and under the new Central London Congestion Charging rules is also Congestion Charge exempt. A recent test carried out comparing the Toyota Prius and Ford Fiesta on motorway mileage showed that the Fiesta ECOnetic performed better than the Hybrid model.
