The New LG GS200

LG is slowly gaining ground in the mobile phone market today

, and they launch new handsets to further improve their standing. In the last quarter of 2009, LG announced their latest phone called the LG GS200, which is a pretty good basic phone at an affordable price. The GS200 is a very handy phone measuring only 106 x 48 x 13.8 mm and weighing only 85 grams. So far, LG has only released one colour for this model which is basic black. This candy bar phone has a fixed internal antenna and a 2.0 inch LCD screen display with a TFT colour depth of 256K and a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. The Features When it comes to network technology, the GS200 supports GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 as well as GPRS Class 10 ( 4 + 1/3 + 2 slots). You can save up to a total of 1000 in your phonebook, so you wont have problems saving all your contacts on your mobile. The internal memory of the phone can easily be expanded by using a microSD (TransFlash) memory card, up to a maximum of 8 GB. The rechargeable Lithium Ion 1100 mAh battery of the phone can allow up to 6 straight hours of call time, 14 hours of music playback, and 550 hours (more than 9 days) on standby mode. The GS200 comes with an integrated music player that can support different file types such as WAV, MP3 and eAAC+ for audio, and MP4 and H.264 for videos. The built-in radio supports FM tuning and has the RDS feature that allows you to read any text information on your screen that is being provided by the radio station youre listening to at the moment. There is also a feature to record whatever youre hearing on the radio so that you can easily listen to it again. The LG GS200 comes with a basic CMOS camera (1.3 megapixels) that has night mode and video recording capabilities. The maximum resolution you can get using the camera phone is 1280 x 1024. For the videos, the format would be in QCIF @ 15 frames per second. There is also feature for integrated video playing, which basically means the video youre watching can easily be shared among your other contacts. The handset also offers the usual additional features to further encourage users to try its phones. These include the voice memo, organizer, photo call and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP. You can use polyphonic or even MP3 ringtones on this phone as well. The GS200 comes with a speaker phone with stereo speakers and a 3.5 mm audio jack for your listening pleasure. It comes with a couple of interesting pre-loaded games which you can remove or add to, whichever you prefer. Java games are supported as well. The Availability of the GS200 The GS200 is set to be distributed sometime in the first quarter of 2010. However, there is no official launching date yet from LG.
