Amazon is an example of B2C or business to consumer e-commerce site. It was founded in 1994 and has become one of the largest online traders on the internet. Amazon began selling books but has now expanded into a wide variety of products including electronics, videos, television shows, e-book readers, clothing and other products.

Hulu is a video and television show on demand site jointly owned by NBCUnviersal, Fox Entertainment Group, ABC Inc., and Providence Equity Partners. The content is only available in the United States and its territories. International users are prevented from accessing the site. Although it started as a free site, a monthly subscription has been started which allows access to a wider range of television programs.

The business to business to consumer (B2B2C) e-commerce model involves an intermediary between the producer of the product and the eventual consumer. Under this scenario, the customer chooses the features that they want in a product which they order from the website which then orders it from the retailer. The retailer also serves a service and return center. XYZ.TV will act as the intermediary between the consumer and the various program choices they will be offering.

E-commerce and online marketing have become an important component of everyday life. They pay a pivotal role in our society and will continue to do so in the future.
