The Nokia C3 Features An Array Of Technology

With a succession of newly released handsets coming into the limelight

, Nokia presents the C3. This functional handset seems to be focused on getting the job done in an efficient manner, rather than looking pretty and having features the user will never even look at.

The handset weighs in at just 114 grams whilst measuring 115.5x58.1x13.6mm. Its light weight and relatively slim line profile make it a comfortable phone to hold and use on the move. The TFT screen measures 2.4 inches and offers good quality display of on screen content thanks to the ability to display up to 256,000 colours within a pixel set up of 320x240. Rather than relying on touch screen navigation, the C3 simply features a full QWERTY keyboard for efficient text entry.

Users can customise their C3 thanks to the ability to assign MP3 music files as ringtones. Obviously, this function works alongside vibration to alert to incoming voice calls and text messages. When an MP3 file is used as a ringtone, users can then hear the song of their choice every time the phone rings. If users wish to talk hands free when on the go, both a speakerphone and a 3.5mm audio jack can be utilised, the latter of which can accommodate a handsfree headset as well as earphones for listening to music.

Internal memory in the Nokia C3 is 55 MB, which allows an adequate amount of storage for data such as media files. This storage can be furthered, however, by utilising the micro SD slot and installing a memory card of up to 16 GB, which is enough to store most peoples digital music collections. The internal phonebook is capable of storing a seemingly unlimited number of entries. It also includes the photocall feature which allows a photo to be assigned to each person in the phonebook. This is then displayed whenever that person calls.

Class 32 versions of both GPRS and EDGE provide the Nokia C3 with its connections to cellular networks. Wi-Fi connectivity is also present, so it can provide a fast internet browsing experience in areas where a wireless internet router is located. Bluetooth version 2.1 is installed as standard, providing a means of sharing data with friends in the same are provided they have a compatible handset. This can also be used for pairing the phone with a Bluetooth compatible hands free headset. A micro USB connection (v2.0) allows the phone to be connected to a computer in order to carry out various tasks such as transferring media files or backing up contact info.

The C3 has a built in digital camera which boasts 2 mega pixels (1600x1200 pixel resolution). This can also shoot video in QCIF quality. A stereo FM radio player and downloadable games add to the entertainment features alongside a versatile media player.

The Nokia C3 provides a range of useful functionality. Rather than put aesthetics first, it does a good job of efficiently carrying out any task that is demanded of it.
