The Nokia C5 features a large range of preloaded applications for the user

, including Ovi applications, Nokia Messaging and popular apps such as Facebook, Friendster and MySpace for social networking. It also features a 3.2 megapixel camera with many advanced features for photos and videos on thew move.

The handset has the Symbian operating system (version 9.3) along with the Nokia S60 3rd Edition and Feature Pack 2 firmware. It has Bluetooth 2.0 with enhanced data rate connectivity also, along with high-speed USB 2.0 through a micro-USB connection from which the device is also charged. Additionally, it has a stereo jack 3.5mm connection for headphones.

The C5 features an advanced 3.2 megapixel camera with a full focus extended depth of field technology (EDOF) lens capable of up to 4 times digital zoom and with an LED flash for better lighting. It also has a secondary VGA camera on the front for video calling. The main camera meanwhile has multiple flash modes and and the flash operating distance is an impressive 1.5 meters. It also has multiple capture, colour tone, scene and balancing modes while using the full screen as a viewfinder. It is also possible to take photos in landscape mode, and edit them on the handset too.

The Nokia Music Player provides the user with playlist creation, an equaliser and the ability to select tracks by artist, album or genre. Additionally, album artwork is also displayed. The Nokia Music Store allows the user to constantly increase their music library also through downloads. The handset also has an FM stereo radio with RDS support for live music and news on the go.

The phone also has an integrated A-GPS receiver which allows it to provide location based services. Those included and preloaded onto the phone include Ovi Maps 3.0 with a free lifetime worth of updates included for constant navigation, route planning and directions to desired destinations straight from the handset.

Email and messaging are made easy with Nokia Messaging and as well as text messing, long texts and multimedia messaging are also supported. Mail for Exchange allows the user to configure other email accounts with their phone so they can always stay up to date with emails and respond from wherever they are.
