The Nokia E5 Is An Impressive New Handset
Nokia have recently released a number of new handsets
. This includes the E5, a mid range QWERTY phone with an array of appealing features. These include a 5 mega pixel camera, 3G and Wi-Fi internet access, and a built in radio player. It is available in a range of colour variants, catering to an array of users.
The E5 features an internal media player which is capable of supporting a selection of different media file formats. A stereo Fm radio player and downloadable games are also included to keep users entertained for hours on end. Voice command/dial, an organiser and T9 predictive text input all make the E5 a functional everyday productivity tool.
The dimensions of the Nokia E5 are 115x58.9x12.8mm and it weighs just 126 grams, making it not only a pocket friendly handset, but it is also comfortable handset when holding it with one hand and using the QWERTY keyboard.
The TFT screen measures a generous 2.4 inches, and thanks to the ability to display up to 256,000 colours within a pixel setup of 320x240, the display quality of onscreen content is very high.
The E5 utilised a number of different connection options to stay connected to both the internet and to cellular networks. In areas where 3G coverage is available, HSDPA provides an internet connection at speeds of up to 10.2 mega bytes per second (alongside HSUPA at 2 mega bytes per second). Wi-Fi connectivity is utilised in order to gain a faster internet connection by taking advantage of the signals provided by wireless internet routers where available. Class 32 versions of both EDGE and GPRS are the primary methods of cellular network connection in all but the most remote areas. Bluetooth and USB both offer the means to connect to compatible hardware such as other phones and computers.
As mentioned, the Nokia E5 offers an impressive digital camera, boasting 5 mega pixels. This operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x1944 and its software package includes such image enhancing features as fixed focus and LED flash, simplifying the task of taking quality snapshots. The camera can also shoot video as an alternative method of capturing memories, and this is in VGA quality at a rate of 15 frames per second.
The alert types on offer in the Nokia E5 are standard vibration, as well as ringing which includes the option to utilise MP3 music files as ringtones. By taking advantage of this feature, users can customise their phone in order to hear the track of their choice whenever the phone rings. A 3.5mm audio jack is included which accommodates earphones for listening to music via the internal media player, as well as hands free headset for hands free talking. A speakerphone system is also installed for this purpose.
250 MB of internal storage is provided as standard within the Nokia E5 for storing files and data such as music tracks. A micro SD slot is also provided for this purpose with a 2 GB card installed, but this can be expanded up to 32 GB by installing a larger card.
The Nokia E5 looks set to appeal to a variety of different users, thanks to its great everyday functionality and appealing design.
