The Nokia N8 Features A Unified Email Client With Easy To Use Features

The Nokia N8 has a unified email client with easy to use features and support for all the major email providers besides other POP and IMAP accounts

. It also has a full HTML web browser with support for Flash websites and web applications in addition to its many other impressive features through a seamless touch interface.

Other messaging features include the ability to open and edit key office documents with support for opening images and videos along with Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents, PDF document and ZIP files or folders. HTML emails are also opened as HTML. The handset also has a unified editor for both multimedia and text messaging (MMS and SMS respectively), along with a conversation-like view for text messages. There is also push notification for new emails and an email widget for the home screen for fast and direct access to the email editor.

The N8 has a powerful 12 megapixel auto focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash. It is capable of up to 2 times digital zoom in image capture mode, and 3 times digital zoom in video capture mode respectively. Besides its many different image capturing software capabilities and modes, it has automatic red-eye removal and face recognition. Videos are captured in High Definition quality through the fullscreen viewfinder and in 16:9, windscreen ratio. Both images and videos have respective editors preinstalled on the handset, and both have automatic location tagging (geotagging). There is also an additional front VGA camera on the phone for video telephony.

The handset runs the Symbian 3 operating system through the touch user interface brought to you with the nHD resolution (high quality) 3.5 inch captive AMOLED touch screen display capable of rendering up to 16.7 million colours. The display is also in 16:9 (widescreen) ratio, and can be turned between landscape and portrait orientation with the integrated accelerometer sensor featured on the device. Text input and user interface controls are easy with simple finger movements and the alphanumeric keypad and keyboard both onscreen. Connectivity offered by the handset includes Bluetooth 3.0 for wireless file sharing and High-Speed USB 2.0 through the microUSB connector and charging point. There is also an HDMI port for TV output to an HD enabled television for HD video playback from the handset.

The Nokia N8 is a powerful and compact design handset with an impressive touch screen and interface with simple control. Additionally, it features a powerful camera for both image and video capture in HD besides its many other capabilities such as its messaging and web browsing features.
