The Nokia N8 Utilises A 3.5 Inch Amoled Capacitive Touchscreen

The Nokia N8 has turned some heads since its release

, with its great looks and features that suit many kinds of user. Nokia are one of the most experienced manufacturers of mobile phones, and its knowledge has culminated in the new N8 as their answer to competing smartphones. And they have done a great job.

The Nokia N8 has an AMOLED capacitive touch screen measuring 3.5 and the operating system being Symbian^3 has the added advantage to users as they can customise many aspects of the UI. The processor is an ARM 11 680 MHz unit and provides ample computing power to operate demanding applications with ease. The internal memory provided by this phone is 16GB which in itself is a generous. Of course it is expandable and an additional 32GB is available thanks to a built in microSD slot. A full HTML browser gives users the freedom to browse, download, and social network to their hearts content. The Nokia N8 of course allows users to stay in touch via email as well as a multitude of other messaging formats including SMS, MMS, and IM. However the one of the best and the most talked about features is the camera of the N8 that has given stiff competition to other phones and even some standalone digital cameras. This camera takes still images of a resolution of 12 MP that provides crystal clear photos, which has added features and effects to enhance the pictures. It comes with a Xenon flash for low lighting conditions, automatically removes red-eye, provides autofocus, has face detection technology and comes in with the focal length of 5.9mm. And it all takes is a touch of the brilliant touch screen to snap the perfect image. The N8 has GPS with A-GPS support which provides location based services and allows features such as Ovi maps and the digital compass to operate. The handset is paired with the Ovi store which allows users to download numerous apps from a range of different categories as well as Dolby Digital Sound which allows enhanced sound quality when using the versatile internal media player.

This Nokia N8 is a welcome addition from the manufacturer who has been in desperate need of a new flagship model. It has been worth the wait though, as the N8 provides an excellent alternative to mainstream smartphones with its stunning features such as the 12 megapixel camera. With the smartphone market saturated with a limited number of models, the Nokia N8 offers an alternative for those who want a head turning device, without sacrificing technology and features.
