The Nokia N97 - The Complete Phone

To counter Apple's iPhone popularity, Nokia launched its high-end smart-phone N97 on 9th June 2009

. Being true with the buzz created around it, Nokia gave a mobile computer to the world in the form of N97. Its user-friendliness is marked as a revolution in the Nokia smart-phone line.

The retail package includes N97, the mandatory charger, a stylus, a micro USB adapter, Software DVD containing Nokia Ovi Suite, a data cable plus a two-piece hands-free and a cloth to clean a sleek gadget and off course a user guide.

With 3.5 inch TFT touch- screen with 16 million colors which slides and tilts revealing fold out QWERTY keyboard, it's loaded with 32 GB mass storage memory. And keeping its weight at 150g Nokia truly made it a computer that stays in pockets. The N97 screen vibrates slightly when touched giving user a feedback of the action.

It also has 5.0 mega pixels camera equipped with f/2.8 Carl Zeiss Tessar lens which can produce DVD quality video. Its long lasting powerful battery survives even after nearly two days of regular usage. It is loaded with Symbian OS 9.4 with Nokia S60 Fifth Edition and trial versions of Quick Office, Adobe reader, Boingo.

The Nokia N97 brings out a new level of personalization with Home Screen. It is preloaded with 8 engaging colorful themes. One can customize the Home Screen with widgets. Playing with widgets is easy and a real fun. The popular widgets can be arranged in any order and some of them can also be removed.

Nokia N97 supports SMS, MMS and email. The good thing is that while composing an SMS, a character limit counter is displayed with an indicator in brackets showing the number of separate parts the message will be divided into for sending.

It has top class file manager which can do many things from sorting files to adding password protection. It also can search a particular file in a no time. Its web browser has full Flash and Java support which means one can enjoy videos from YouTube without YouTube app. The browser works smoothly with pretty much all the sites and is notably faster. It comes with integrated GPS, A-GPS receivers and limited license of Nokia Maps. N97 is also compatible with Nokia's N-Gage games.

A downsized version of the N97, N97 mini was released in October 2009. It's little bit smaller and light than N97 and has 3.2 inch LCD and Mass storage Memory of 8GB.
