The Nokia X6 Provides Comprehensive Entertainment Features

The Nokia X6 is one of the manufacturers newest creations

. It is aimed primarily at those who like to use their phone as a portable entertainment device. A versatile internal media player and a whopping 32 GB of storage accompany such features as a five mega pixel digital camera, Wi-Fi Internet access and impressive touch screen navigation of the user interface.

The internal media player supports various formats of both video and music files such as MP3 and MP4, whilst a stereo FM radio player and a selection of pre-installed and downloadable games are also provided to keep users entertained for hours on end. Other handy features include an organiser, photo editor, voice command/dial and a TV out socket which allows videos and photos stored on the phone to be viewed on a compatible TV screen.

The dimensions of the Nokia X6 are 111x51x13.8mm and it weighs in at a pocket friendly 122g. Some modern appearance of the handset is aesthetically pleasing and its slimline profile makes it a pleasure to hold and use on the move.

The 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen utilises a pixel setup of360x640 to display up to 16M colours. Therefore the display quality of onscreen content is very high with great colour depth and clarity, making it ideal for watching video files. The screen is manufactured from scratch resistant glass, which protects the X6 from everyday bumps and knocks. As with many new phones and accelerometers sensor is built into the screen which offers an auto-rotate function.

Although the Nokia X6 does not include a micro SD card slot, as many new phones do, there is simply no need for one as internal storage is a whopping 32 GB which should prove more than adequate for the needs of most users and can indeed store an entire digital music collection along with a good number of video files and photos. The internal phonebook can store a large number of contacts and includes the popular Photocall feature, whereby a photo is assigned to each contact and this is then displayed on the screen any time that person is in contact.

An excellent five mega pixel camera is installed as standard in the X6 offering a means to take high quality photographs. The inclusion of features such as Autofocus and dual led flash make the task of taking quality photos a breeze even in low lighting conditions. The camera can also shoot video in VGA quality at a rate of 30 frames per second, offering an alternative method of image capture.

Class 32 versions of both GPRS and EDGE keep the X6 connected to cellular networks in areas with little or no 3G coverage. In areas covered by 3G a HSDPA connection provides access to the Internet at speeds of up to 3.6 mega bytes per second. When available, the signal provided by wireless Internet routers allows Wi-Fi technology to be utilised, gaining a faster Internet connection and therefore an enhanced web browsing experience.

When compared to many other new handsets the Nokia X6 certainly holds its own as far as entertainment specs are concerned. It also takes the boxes for great everyday functionality, and has the added bonus of being available in a number of different colour variants.
