The Dutch origin said

The Dutch always disagree with the statement that golf has originated in Scotland. They think the earliest golf was originated in Holland. The Dutch regards the "kolven", an ancient movement as the earliest golf, and they think this movement is through the merchandise trade between the two countries into Scotland. But, a lot of people do not agree with this statement. Critics point that the "kolven" is a kinda indoor sports, while the golf is an outdoor sports, and this is the most fundamental and substaintial distinction.
