The Osprey Aether 70 is the middle pack of the Osprey Aether range, or rucksacks as some people like to refer to them as. The Osprey Aether range is gender specific and suitable for men. The Ladies out there should consider the Osprey Ariel range.

Because it is suitable for men, it comes with a special moulded hip belt. All Aether/Ariel packs feature this IsoForm (TM) gender-specific harness that consists of a revolutionary dual density, spacer mesh foam with sewn seams away from the body for added comfort. With the Osprey Aether 70, you also get a handy reservoir compatible dual exit system for you water drinking needs.

As it is middle product of the range, you may want to consider one of these for a 4 day mission or less. How about a weekend ayay, in the wilderness? The Aether 70 can carry between 4000-4400 cubic inches depending on the size you choose. Like its big brother the Aether 85 and its smaller brother, the Aether 60, the 70 comes in three sizes, Small, Medium and Large, and three colors, Dusk Blue, Magma Orange, Tundra Green.

Ultimately, this pack is built for comfort. It has a super light internal frame which means unlike the older style of packs, you can't tie your boots to the frame. But you don't want to, especially if you are a serious rock climber, as you risk snaring and ripping it on a rock.

You get lots of straps with tihs pack. Also, a sleeping bag compartment and detachable lumbar pack. With the compression strap putting everything in place, you'll be amazed by what you can carry. In fact this pack is so comfy, some reviewers have said you might even forget its there! I know a number of people who have these and they tell me you won't feel any pains and aches after a straight 5 mile hike - unlike some other brands I better not mention.
