The Parts Of The Washing Appliance
The washing machine is a bonafide product of the late industrial and modern age that saves us countless hours ever week from the tedium of laundering
. A confluence of factors such as electricity, mechanization, and increasing affluence were responsible for its rapid spread during the early 20th century.
Activation of the washer is accomplished by turning the timer dial to a setting. As the timer counts down it engages various components by sending power to the subsystems. For example, at the beginning of the wash cycle the intake valve is opened to release water to soak the clothes. Another example is engagement of the motor to drive the agitator.
The clothes are put into the central tub which is also designed to hold water until it needs to be drained away. The tub is capable of sustaining two kinds of motion to aid in cleaning clothes. The tub has a vertical motion, which happens during the agitation phase. There is also a rotation phase to squeeze water out of the clothes, which happens during the spin cycle.
Tubing or metal piping carry clean water into the tub to soak the clothes. Another series of tubes transports water out after the spin cycle. For the intake of water, a valve is used to control how much water enters. After the spin cycle, a brake engages the transmission to reduce the speed of the tub rotation.
For those with little space in their residences or condominiums, it can be a little challenging to obtain a washer and a dryer. The first problem they face is that there is almost no room to have capacity for big appliances especially in the modern age of oversized machines.
Another reason is that washers and dryers, being heavy appliances, are not condominium and apartment-friendly considering that they require a great deal of space. There are even homes that are so old such that they do not have adequate space for a gas line or an exhaust vent which a clothing dryer would require.
