Web Development can be divided into two paths one the focuses on client-side programming, and the other which focuses on server-side programming. The latter, on the other hand, uses such languages as PHP, Ruby, Perl, and Python. To become a web developer, therefore, would mean an understanding of all these languages.

The best route one can take to become a web developer is to attend a four-year course in any university and get a major in computer science. Since this degree encompasses a number of programming languages, make sure that you focus on web development. Since the technology being the Internet changes every now and then, it is recommended that you regularly update yourself with new information even after you have obtained a degree.

If you would like a shorter route to learning Toronto web development, you can also enroll in vocational schools that provide a more focused study of web development. Although studying in vocational schools may not be as prestigious as studying in a university, because of the focus that they have, you get to spend more hours on web development as compared to your university-bred counterpart.

Once you have your degree in web development, you can either start working for a Toronto web development company to earn enough experience, or you can also start creating your own sites and present them in your portfolio. The latter, however, might be a little difficult especially since you would be going against other web developers who have been around for quite some time.

When you have earned enough experience, you might want to try doing Toronto web development on other platforms such as on mobile phones.
