The Polarware Edge Pan Vs. The Vollrath Super Pan 5
When it comes to pans for steam tables, buying the best quality possible translates to long life and dependable performance
. Just as when you make a more significant purchase, such as refrigeration or a new range, buying quality matters. Spending less at the outset works for a little while, but once damage and other problems occur, you'll end up making another purchase, ultimately spending more than you would have, had you bought a high quality product in the first place. If you are in the market for high quality steam table pans, then you probably wonder which brand to choose. Both Polarware and Vollrath offer excellent products that stand the test of time. These steam table pans to have some different features, believe it or not, that should be considered prior to purchase. Let's take a closer look.
Polarware Edge Pan
Known for being among the toughest steam table pans on the market today, Polarware Edge Pans are available in 22-gauge 300 series stainless steel for maximum strength and long life durability. The Polarware Edge Pan is available in a number of different sizes and shapes that fit in standard steam table configurations.
These pans feature a "Grip and Lift" raised bead along their edges, which makes handling easier. There is no need to use a spoon or some other utensil to pry these pans up and out of their positions on the steam table or salad bar. The top outside corners of the pans are flat, without any additional geometry, making cleaning quick and easy, and the reversed form edges are polished and flatted to provide consistent contact with well openings.
Made in the United States, Polarware Edge Pans come with a manufacturer's guarantee against bent corners. If these pans' corners are bent during normal use, the manufacture will replace the pans.
Vollrath Super Pan 5
Also known as some of the strongest steam table pans available, Vollrath Super Pans are manufactured with a newly designed corner shape that is meant to resist dings and dents even in the busiest, most demanding environments. The new Vollrath Super Pan 5 design is compatible with all Super Pan II covers and accessories. Also manufactured from 22 gauge 300 series stainless steel, these pans feature concave rounded indentations with diagonal tapers on the corners that serve the dual purpose of making pouring easier, and increasing stability. Vollrath's pans have an anti-jamming design that prevents them from sticking together, plus their edges are reverse formed and flattened for tight well fit and handling comfort.
Both the Vollrath Super Pan V and the Polarware Edge Pan are beautifully polished, and both look great in the steam table. Both are available with straight or slotted lids, and both come with other accessories, such as false bottoms, adaptor bars, and wire grates for greater functionality. As for price, Polarware Edge Pans are a few dollars less than the Vollrath Super Pan V; as for convenience, the ability to pour without making a mess is definitely a nice feature the Vollrath Pan has over the Polarware. Which will work best for your kitchen? That's completely up to you.
