I would be if i were them. Imagine the scenario - you have basically created a monopoly on a product that everyone needs at an ever increasing rate.

Electricity is the backbone of your society today. Now you can charge the population as much as you like for this energy - they really have no other choice do they?

Then all of the sudden, someone invents something that could revolutionize the entire energy industry. This amazing machine is so simple to build, basically anyone with two legs and a heartbeat could construct it.

If you are the power companies, what options do you have -

1. Join the revolution and somehow monetize it.

2. Crush the rebellion and pretend it never happened.

Well, i can tell you that option 1 is way too expensive for the power companies to consider, so that leaves them with only one other option.

The major power conglomerates of the world have done everything they can to discredit the magnetic electricity generator, a free power generating machine that everyone can and frankly, should have to power their own home. But I don't blame them, I mean they have countless billions of dollars to lose, don't they.
