The Principle of Abundance

The Principle of Abundance

The Principle of Abundance

Eckhart Tolle defines his experience with his Enlightenment as "no mind," a state of non-thought in which the underlying stillness of Being is found free of continuous thought-stream. Tolle essentially describes falling through the egoic structure into the basement or foundation of Self or Being. This is commonly known as "ego death." Ego death is accompanied or marked by a cessation of want, a being entirely free of either thought or lack, as only mind and ego have thoughts and wants, not underlying Being or Self. In ego death there is only presence.

Enlightenment suggests a state of exceptional happiness in the form of joy or bliss experienced in every moment. Want-streams interfere with Enlightenment in equal measure to thought-streams, because they involve the invocation of ego by Self to acquire and so engage in seeking behavior in achieving unfulfilled scarcities. Self engages ego in a consumptive act. There is a hole somewhere to fill, and this hole is the want to experience Being free from want, or thought, or any other state except complete acceptance and presence. Because the western gestalt trains minds into a near constant state of thinking and wanting, and thinking about wanting, this empty state is probably now more difficult to achieve than at any previous time by any one group of human beings. Our brains have been wired since birth for something else.

It is actually difficult to discuss the concept of wanting and getting, or having, because the language itself interferes with the transmission of ways to meta-cognitively approach the subject. For example, how can we get what we want if wanting is no longer involved in getting? How can we have what we want without wanting to have? Why would we no longer want to want? What is the advantage to it? The language itself presents what appears to be a paradox, a kind of spiritual Catch-22. Never produce a want and so never produce a get or a have as a practice toward Enlightenment or at least actualization? What does this even mean?

How is it possible to be free of the incessant want-stream of our egoic minds, and reside in a perpetual place of happiness in every moment because we are no longer projecting an unfulfillment, an artifact of unhappiness, known as a want? Fortunately, this is easier than experiencing ego death. It comes from experiencing want death. It can be accomplished through a shift in perception.

A want is an energetic hole. A want is a life negative experience. We have been trained to want from the time we were children. The entire society calls for a continuous and uninterrupted flow of wants for the economic structure to flourish, and so demands the continued use of the planet as a throughput for wishes. Advertisers and marketers ensure we are all chock-a-block with more wishes and wants than any ten planets could produce, and so this issue of want-streams is critical to understand as good planetary citizens as well as happy individuals.

A gift is an energetic bubble. A gift is a life positive experience. If a want represents a negative sign, then a gift represents a positive sign experientially. When gift replaces want, spiritual consumption ends and spiritual production begins. Gift is the mechanism through which actualization is enabled entirely free of want and so flow the experience of happiness and actualization in each moment.

The first aspect to deal with is want, the 500-pound gorilla that drives egoic satisfaction. A want is by definition unhappiness, just as money is debt in classic financial analysis. When a want is produced, unhappiness is produced. When a debt is made banks produce money at a ten to one ratio to the debt. Want is unhappiness debt. This is the fatal flaw with the so-called "law of attraction," because it is entirely and obsessively obsessed with instructing people to sit around wanting something they do not possess and so concentrate upon their inadequacies and their unfulfillments.

This is completely opposite to the actual mechanism in manifesting desire, or those demands nature has made upon us as sentient beings, things such as our destiny, our purpose, our existential completion upon our journey through time on the material plane of existence. Every person's intuition automatically understands what that person requires to manifest his or her self, a near infallible form of radar that guides us in the direction of gift and destiny when we listen to it. Listening to intuition entirely replaces the need to be concerned with "attracting" anything. We have now achieved a major milestone in our spiritual development. We never again need to consciously think of "attracting" because the equation is entirely reversed. In place of the consumptive act of wanting, we begin flowing toward experiences upon our own flow channel. Our intuition will take us there. Ever heard the term "getting out of your own way?" The channel is now open. Problem solved.

Adhering to the rubric of the "law of attraction," that of "ask, believe, receive" a consumer based poverty philosophy is created that places the asker in a life negative position. Through some kind of spiritual butterfly effect, or Bell's quantum theorum of nonlocality assigned to non-quantum systems, a touch of New Age oogah-boogah is combined with savvy multi-level marketing and the universe reaches into its top hat and magically creates abundance merely from want. But abundance is never produced from want. Abundance is only produced through gift. The only thing a want does is produce a hole requiring some gift from outside to fill the wanting person. We are given through the "law of attraction" the seeming ability to be congruent spiritually and materially, except it doesn't work as advertised. Abundance arises only through gift, therefore, becoming producers of gift is the true path toward the creation of abundance. And this requires the abandonment of wanting. It requires creating.

The idea that we can get what we want through "the sharpening of desire" is attractive on the surface. We imagine everything we want, we put it out into the universe, and the universe provides it. Neat. For a person without a gift, this is a very subtle and attractive philosophy. All they need do is imagine abundance, and abundance is created. Unfortunately, the proposition is inherently illogical, because a want is a negative energetic hole. Essentially, such a proposition requires the abundance of another to fill the hole, and violates logic because it presumes we can somehow go shopping without having to pay for it, a kind of invisible credit card with very liberal terms by the lending institution. It is somehow free.

Wants provide a wonderful topographical map of unhappiness and the contours of unfulfillment specific to each person. Their wants define the limits and contours of their own personal unhappiness and the boundaries of their non-actualization. The person who no longer wants has no more unhappiness and unfulfillment. They are happy, fulfilled, and actualized in each moment. They may not have achieved Enlightenment, but they certainly live next door, and can borrow a cup of sugar from it now and then and maybe even be invited over for a neighborly dinner from time to time.

This is where the creation of gift permits the cessation of the want-stream and the production of abundance and happiness. Gift arises from Self, guided by intuition, creating the abundance that replaces the need to want and permits us to "get" what we "want" without ever having "wanted" to "get" anything. The entire negative and consumptive want-stream is interrupted, put in neutral, and discontinued. It is replaced with a positive gift-stream that creates abundance as a natural medium of exchange in the world.

A beautiful gift is rarely denied. The more beautiful the gift, the more abundance created. Stop wanting. Begin creating, giving, and bringing beautiful gifts into being. This is the path not only to abundance, but in creating happiness in each moment, and coming into congruency on both the spiritual and the material planes. Stopping incessant wanting is an evident and direct path to joy, just as the stopping of incessant thought-streams is an evident and direct path to presence. This is The Principle. This is the principle of every person who created abundance in their lives throughout the entirety of history, through the creation of gifts with which to exchange in the marketplace of existence.

Time to move over, Law of Attraction. There is a new law in town.
