. The canvas used is made up of cotton or in more recent times is made up of plastic. The canvas poster painting process involves the steps of designing and printing.
Designing of the canvas poster print
There are two important methods of designing a canvas poster- The age old hand drawn graphics and the more recent computer graphics. Hand made graphics are time taking and one can not change or manipulate the design once completed. These shortcomings of designing poster for canvas print have been overcome by the use of computer graphics. With the help of imaging software the designs created can not only be changed but also adjusted and text messages and other graphics can be added later on. 1.Chromolithography -
This is the most primitive process of canvas printing. The canvas used here is silk based or cotton. In this process individual coloured plates remain placed over one another to get the pint on the canvas.
2.Intaglio printing - In this method ink is added o an engraved plate and then pressed on the canvas for print.
3.Lithography - The most popular of the all Canvas poster printing processes Lithography involves the use of glossy canvases. Oil based paints are pressed on the canvases with a water base. This seals the colour o the canvas. The CMYK colour scheme is used in lithographic printing. Computer software is used to select the colours and then implant them on the image.
4.At the time of printing the image a proof is done first by placing blank papers on the printer for proper alignment. Once the proof gets completed, printing of the image starts. This method of canvas printing takes lesser time than others and is flexible in use.
5.Silk screen printing - This is an age old method of printing in which each print is done by hand and then exposed to UV rays. This burn the print and colour gets added to the burnt areas.
