The Propane Fire Pit – A Hassle Free Fireplace

The Propane Fire Pit A Hassle Free Fireplace

An outdoor fireplace can actually encompass a lot of different things, from small fire bowls to large built in fireplaces. This means there are a few decisions to make before deciding on which type of fireplace to purchase. One of the most popular options is the fire pit. This is because the majority of fire pits come at an affordable price, are very portable and easy to use. But this term can cover a large range of designs from portable camping models to fire pit grills to fire bowls and tables. One specific model I want to tell you about is the propane fire pit.

The propane fire pit is quite different to a traditional wood burning one. A propane fire pit will usually run off what's called a propane tank, and this is all you need to start your fires. The portability with these models makes them an ideal choice for camping, weekends away, or even if you simply want an easy to use backyard fireplace. When you make a wood fire you have to use a bit of kindling and some wood logs to start building your fire gradually, and then you need to tend to the fire throughout the evening. The plus side is you can use a wood fire to have a barbeque if you have a suitable cooking grate, and/or fire pit that allows for cooking. A wood fire also smells and feels very nice. The down side is, you do need to have a stockpile of wood logs, it takes longer to start the fire, there is a bit more residue to clean up afterwards, and you need to fully watch and wait for the wood to extinguish before you can head off to bed.

With a propane fire pit, starting the fire is hassle free. You can simply turn it on with a switch or button, and you can turn it off just as easily. This allows for very quick, easy to build, warm fires to enjoy. There is also no smoke produced and very little residue to clean up after use. One thing to mention that is very important to some is that some residential and camping grounds do not actually allow you to burn wood. In these areas, a propane or natural gas pit is the only option. A lot of people also find propane fire pits to be easy to transport, as all you need is your pit and a small propane tank. And instead of requiring wood logs, you just need to refill your propane tank at a gas station every month or so, depending on how often you use it.

If you want to enjoy relaxing in your backyard or you want to keep warm on your next camping trip, you cannot go wrong with a hassle free, low maintenance and easy to use propane fire pit.
